If I were Chris Brown and just found out I was in trouble with Suge Knight, I’d be making the same “You in danger, self” look too. Because if there’s ever been a person you don’t want to piss off, it’s Suge Knight.
Page Six says that Suge Knight has filed a lawsuit against Chris Brown and nightclub 1OAK regarding Brown’s disastrous pre-MTV VMAs party at 1OAK back in 2014. The messiness started when someone tried to take out Chris Brown and ended up shooting Suge Knight seven times instead. Three others were shot and one ended up in critical condition. Two years later, and Suge is allegedly still feeling the aftermath of that shooting. According to the lawsuit, Suge claims to have ongoing complications, including a blood clot, from being shot in his chest, arm, and abdomen at Chris’ party. Um, are we sure that blood clot is from a bullet that was shot during Chris Brown’s party and not one of the millions of other times Suge Knight has been shot?
The lawsuit also claims that the shooting is the reason why Suge fled the scene after running over a man with his car during the filming of Straight Outta Compton. Suge was allegedly still shook up from the shooting five months earlier and fled because he was “afraid for his life.” The man Suge hit later died. Suge is still in jail awaiting trial.
Suge also slaps at 1OAK for not taking the proper precautions on the night of the shooting, like recognizing that Chris Brown has a history of throwing parties that have ended with people getting hurt. Suge also alleges that Chris Brown has ties to gang members.
Suge doesn’t specify how much cash he wants from Chris Brown and 1OAK. But the lawsuit does claim he wants them to pay for his past and future medical bills. Suge Knight tried to sue Kanye West back in 2005 for the same reason (i.e. he got shot at a party thrown by Kanye in Miami), but Page Six says he lost that one. Apparently Kanye wasn’t legally responsible because you can’t predict a shooting, Miss Cleo-style.
As for Chris Brown, this actually isn’t the first time today someone is reminding us that Chris Brown is a magnet for violence. Last week, Chris Brown’s former manager Mike G filed a lawsuit against him. Mike G accused Chris of beating on him. Several sources connected to Chris Brown’s tour are adding more to that story. TMZ says that Chris Brown’s former tour manager, Nancy Ghosh, claims that shortly after Chris came for Mike G last month, he cornered her on his tour bus and launched into a “threatening, drug-fueled tirade.” Working for Chris Brown is the definition of “I don’t get paid enough for this shit,” so it’s not exactly a surprise that Nancy quit on the spot. The next day she contacted Chris Brown’s team and explained that she didn’t feel safe, especially since he allegedly threatened to do “what he did to Mike G” to her. Unlike Mike G, Nancy isn’t suing Chris Brown. Probably because no amount of lawsuit cash can compete with the soul-lifting feeling of knowing you don’t work for Chris Brown anymore.
TMZ says a production manager also complained about Chris Brown’s verbal threats and abuse. So far, Chris Brown’s people haven’t really said anything about this. This would usually be where Chris Brown would respond to the allegations by posting a cracked-out Instagram video, but he hasn’t done that yet. Ironically, he recently deleted the one he posted in response to Mike G. Maybe he’s finally learned that it’s kind of a waste of his time to make those videos. I mean, as long as there’s Chris Brown, there’s always going to be someone accusing Chris Brown of being Chris Brown.
