It was announced on Sunday that Adele will host Saturday Night Live for the first time ever. That news came hot on the heels of the revelation that she had reportedly summoned her lawyers a few days before that and sicced them on The Sun for publishing that story about Chris Brown being at her house.
Both Adele and the official SNL Instagram account broke the news on Sunday that she will host on October 24th. Adele first appeared as the musical guest on SNL back in October of 2008, then again in November of 2015. She won’t be singing this Saturday, so SNL watchers can go ahead and cancel their Amazon Prime order the XL box of Kleenex. Instead, the musical guest will be Grammy award-winning singer and very good guitar player H.E.R.
Not surprisingly, Adele is very excited about it all. I’m sure The Daily Mail is also screaming with excitement because it will mean at least 12-to-17 new articles featuring screen grabs from every possible angle about Adele “flaunting” her current body. Meanwhile, the rest of us are placing bets to see if she’ll announce a new album before or after Weekend Update.
Adele is hosting the Halloween episode. Which means there’s a chance Adele will appear in a sketch where Jim Carrey’s Joe Biden dresses up as David S. Pumpkins and tells children that the scariest house on the block is the White House, which they’ll be able to identify by the orange Jerk-O-Lantern in the window, and is that really worth it? Decide accordingly.
And while Adele is practicing her cue card reading in what will surely be a terrific American accent, her lawyers are busy fighting The Sun on her behalf. Last week, The Sun published a report in which they claimed with absolute certainty that Chris Brown had been seen leaving Adele’s home in London at about 2 am. They also claimed to have had picture proof of Chris Brown exiting her home. It wasn’t too much of a stretch, considering Adele has been known to be on friendly terms with Chris Brown. The Sun quickly deleted their story. And according to Twitter account @ThePopTingz, Adele, has decided to give the rain a break and set fire to The Sun’s ass, legally speaking.

We don’t know why Adele would possibly sue The Sun in this case. But due to the shady way The Sun presented things – that Chris Brown allegedly arrived late at night and left at 2 am – it would probably be because of the implication that something shady might have been happening between the two. Chris Brown is currently dating an Instagram model/influencer named Gina Huynh. Adele has reportedly been dating UK rapper Skepta. If Adele really is suing The Sun, I think this might be the quickest lawsuit in UK history. The judge will take a look at The Sun’s post, and decide that they clearly didn’t do their due-diligence as reporters. If you see Chris Brown near Adele’s house, your first instinct should be to call her people and confirm that Hell hasn’t frozen. “She doesn’t know him like that? She never would? Phew, ok I thought so. Thank you!”
